The story

I have been baking for over a decade. I started off with the simple cupcake and the obsession grew from there. Born and bred in London, I have always worked in IT/CRM. I enjoy feeding my colleagues, friends and neighbours. However since relocating to Zurich in 2020, I decided to give this baking thing a real shot.

I set up Connie Loves Cake officially in January 2021 in Adliswil, before moving over the hill to Bonstetten at the end of 2021.

My favourite cupcakes are courgette and lemon, chocolate with beetroot or anything with Matcha. I always enjoy trying new recipes, experimenting, repeating and tweaking recipes with a goal of continuous improvement.

I only bake cakes that I would actually eat. I never use fondant because of its extremely sweet and rubbery texture. Instead, I decorate cakes with fruit, nuts, or edible flowers.

Sugar is not a flavour and the most important thing is how it tastes.

A good cake will have the right balance of complementary flavours and textures.

If you are looking for a cake that isn't overtly sweet and decorated with natural ingredients, you've come to the right place.
